Morenga Hunt is an adjunct faculty member and advisor in Winthrop University’s Master of Arts in Arts Administration program (MAAA). His previous experience includes seven years as the managing director of a performing arts center in Manchester, England, U.K., and eleven years as the Vice President of Education and Community Programs at the North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. Morenga’s background includes extensive local, national, and international experience in arts and non-profit administration, leadership and management, and arts education. He has served on various committees, panels, and task force groups with the (former) Arts Council of Great Britain, the British Council, the Kennedy Center, the Broadway League, The Association of American Cultures, the Performing Arts Exchange, the NC Arts Council, SC Arts Commission, and other leading arts organizations. He has received multiple awards and recognition for his work in the USA and abroad, including the “City Shapers” and “Community Enterprise” Awards in England, the Latin American “Excelente” Award in Charlotte, NC, and Winthrop University’s Medal of Honor in the Arts Award. Morenga currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board for the South Carolina Arts Alliance, the statewide arts advocacy organization.
