Jonathan Price is a British cultural analyst based in West Yorkshire. He currently works with the On The Edge research partnership in Scotland, which focuses on the role of the arts in public life (https://ontheedgeresearch.org). Jon obtained a PhD in 2016 from the Robert Gordon University (Aberdeen) with a thesis on ‘The discourse of cultural leadership’, since shortlisted for the international ENCATC Research Award on Cultural Policy and Cultural Management. Having started out in journalism and music promotion, Jon worked for many years as a cultural development manager in Leeds (UK), running festivals, youth programmes, arts funding, international collaborations and cultural regeneration initiatives. He is currently evaluating arts projects in England and Scotland and is a regular assessor for the European Commission on Creative Europe (cultural grants) and Horizon 2020 (research awards). Jon has research interests in arts management, cultural participation and the relationship of artists to cultural policy.
