Northwestern University
incoming faculty & Director, MS in Leadership for Creative Enterprises
Chicago
Jennifer specializes in the development and use of novel measurement systems to understand cultural participation and the personal and public values derived from these experiences. Her publications explore the multiplicity of ways people participate in art and creative expression, and how to evaluate and understand the intrinsic impact of an arts experience on an individual. She is often called upon to develop and expand robust data sources related to arts and culture, and to aid policymakers and cultural practioners in their use of research and data for decision-making. Her work lies at the nexus of research, policy, and practice. Jennifer is the PI for the National Endowment for the Arts' first Research Lab on creativity and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Cultural Trends. Jennifer has led research initiatives at the Curb Center at Vanderbilt University, NORC, the Cultural Policy Center at the University of Chicago, WolfBrown, and the RAND Corporation.
